What you're buying with Webex Calling.
Webex Calling sits inside a confusing licensing landscape:
- Webex Suite (bundled). UK list around £14–20 per user per month depending on tier. Bundles Webex Meetings + Webex Calling + Webex Messaging + basic contact-centre features. Often sold via Cisco partners with variable discounting.
- Webex Calling Standalone. Just the calling component, typically £14–18 per user per month, requires its own contract. Less common for SMEs because the bundle discount makes Suite better value.
- Webex Calling Professional. Adds advanced calling features (recording, queues, supervisor analytics). Usually £20–28 per user per month.
- Webex Contact Center. Full contact-centre tier, enterprise pricing.
Webex's published pricing varies more by partner than by official rate card. UK Cisco partners discount differently; ask three Webex resellers and you'll get three different quotes for the same configuration.
Pricing at 40 users.

Webex pricing variable by partner. Lower-bound figures used here. Higher partner discounts narrow the gap; higher tiers (Webex Calling Professional, Webex Contact Center) widen it.
Where Webex wins.
- Cisco hardware ecosystem. If your firm has Cisco room systems, Cisco network kit, or a Cisco-certified IT team, Webex's tight integration with that ecosystem is genuine. The Webex Board, the Webex Desk Pro, the Cisco room series — they all just work with Webex Calling.
- Enterprise procurement comfort. "It's Cisco" passes procurement at firms where the IT director needs a recognisable enterprise brand. Worth procurement points.
- Webex Meetings integration. If your firm is heavy Webex Meetings users for video conferencing, having the calling stack in the same vendor reduces tool surface.
- Globally consistent service. Webex deploys identically in 80+ countries. For UK-based multinationals with offices abroad, single-vendor footprint is real.
Where 3CX wins.
- Half the per-user cost. The £8 differential per user per month is the headline. At 40 users that's £3,800/year. At 80 users it's £7,700/year.
- No partner-pricing roulette. Our quote is the quote — transparent line items matching our public pricing page. Webex pricing depends on which Cisco partner you happen to find.
- UK partner relationship. Direct UK MSP. Cisco partners can be excellent or absent depending on whom you ended up with.
- Lighter licensing complexity. 3CX has four editions (BASIC, PRO, AI, Enterprise Plus) and one Simultaneous Call number. Webex has multiple SKU families, calling/suite tier matrices, named/concurrent licensing variants, and add-on options. Simplicity has compound value over time.
- Faster deployment. 3CX-managed deploys in 6–8 weeks end-to-end. Webex deployments through Cisco partners frequently take 12–20 weeks with the same scope.
Who should pick which.
- Pick Webex if: you have substantial Cisco infrastructure already in place, you need the Cisco hardware ecosystem (room systems, video kit), you're a UK multinational with offices abroad, or your procurement requires Cisco-specific consolidation.
- Pick managed 3CX if: you're an SME without specific Cisco infrastructure, you value transparent pricing, you want a UK partner relationship, or you don't need the enterprise-brand procurement value at twice the cost.
What we'll tell you at audit.
The Webex vs 3CX comparison usually comes down to whether the Cisco brand signal earns its premium for your specific firm. If you have £30,000 of Cisco room hardware and an IT director who lives in the Cisco partner portal, Webex is the coherent stack. If you're an SME with M365, a few meeting rooms, and a desire for predictable monthly telephony spend, 3CX-managed is almost always the better answer. We'll tell you which case yours fits at the audit.
